The newly started Pitt-Johnstown women's wrestling team will make its second home appearance when Bethany (WV) visits the Sports Center, Thursday night.  Match-time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
 
Head Coach Shane Valko's Pitt-Johnstown women's wrestling squad enters the match at 1-0 after an impressive, 27-10, victory over Waynesburg in the program's first ever home meet last Wednesday.  The Mountain Cats, who will close out their inaugural season in the Sports Center, also had a solid showing at Sunday's 2025 Wilkes Women's Open.  Fourteenth-ranked Tamara Humphries won the title at 117 lbs. to become Pitt-Johnstown's first individual tournament champion, and No. 20 Makayla Paclib (131 lbs.) and Emma Hoppe (145 lbs.) each finished as runners-up in their respective weight classes.
 
Bethany, in its second season as a varsity program under Head Coach Pete Di Pol, is 4-1 following a 39-10 win at Penn State-Altoona on Nov. 12.  On Sunday, McKenna Acampora (103 lbs.), Taelor Rae Busch (117 lbs.), Rose Mary Dodd (131 lbs.), and 2025 National Qualifier and No. 20-ranked Trinity Barrus (180 lbs.) all won individual championships at the Millersville Open.
 
Following Thursday's match against Bethany, Pitt-Johnstown will travel to the Baldwin-Wallace Open in Berea, Ohio on Sunday to finish the first semester.  The Mountain Cats will then begin the Spring Semester with a dual meet at Penn State-Altoona on Jan. 7.
