Tamara Humphries (117 lbs.) and
Makayla Paclib both finished as runners-up, and two others placed in the top five to lead another strong showing for the Pitt-Johnstown women's wrestling team at Saturday's Ursinus Will Abele Invitational in Collegeville, Pa.
Humphries cruised into the finals and with a pair of falls, a tech fall, and a decision, but was pinned by Maddie Ripley at 2:08 in the title bout at 117 lbs. Paclib went 2-1 on the day with a fall and a decision but suffered a 7-0 loss to Stacy Bloomfield in the championship bout at 131 lbs.
Pitt-Johnstown's
Emma Hoppe, ranked 20
th at 145 lbs., pinned Ashley Dehney at 2:55 to claim third place, and
Rome Alvarez won a 11-8 decision over Ivy Anderson to finish fifth. Hoppe was 4-1 with two falls, and


Alvarez was 5-1 with a tech fall and a fall.
In addition,
Janayah Nobles (138 lbs.) went 3-2 on the day,
Leah Shoemaker (117 lbs.) was 1-2, and
Isabella Taranto was 0-2 for the Mountain Cats.
Pitt-Johnstown will travel to East Stroudsburg on Jan. 24 for the Pennsylvania State Collegiate Championships.
