Paclib, Hoppe Win titles; Four Place at PA Collegiate Women’s Championships

Makayla Paclib (131 lbs.) and Emma Hoppe (145 lbs.) each won individual titles to lead a group of four Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers who placed in the top-four at Saturday's 2026 Pennsylvania Collegiate Women's Championships in East Stroudsburg.
 
Paclib, who went 3-0 in the tournament, pinned East Stroudsburg's Ariel Manning at 3:42 in the semifinals, before earning a 10-0 technical fall at 3:24 over Gianna Amendola (East Stroudsburg) to claim her championship at 131 lbs.
 
Hoppe picked up her championship at 145 lbs. with three consecutive first period falls.  After reaching to the semifinals with a pin to begin the tournament, Hoppe, ranked 20th in the country, pinned Alvernia's Kathryn Berger just :30 into her semifinal match, then won by fall at 1:34 over Lehigh's Maklynna Loepp in the title bout.
 
Alvarez, IsabelHumphries, TamaraThe Mountain Cats also got a runner-up finish from Rome Alvarez at 124 lbs., and a fourth-place finish from 15th-ranked Tamara Humphries at 117 lbs.
 
Alvarez won two matches by decision, including a 12-6 victory over Penn State-Altoona's Richelle Reyes in the semis, but was pinned by Lock Haven's Jayleah Pletz in her finals match at 124 lbs.
 
Following a loss in the semifinals, Humphries bounced back with a win in the consolations to advance to the third-place match at 117 lbs., before being forced to injury default at 4:35.
 
Leah Shoemaker (117 lbs.) and Isabella Taranto (124 lbs.), both wrestled for Pitt-Johnstown, but did not place.
