Vance Collects Career Win No. 100 in #5 Pitt-Johnstown’s PSAC Shutout Win Over Seton Hill

Vance, IsaiahThird-ranked Isaiah Vance closed out a 50-0 PSAC victory by the fifth-ranked Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers over Seton Hill with a first period fall to become the 29th Mountain Cat to reach 100 career wins during Friday's night's Winterfest Celebration in the Sports Center.  Pitt-Johnstown improved to 10-0 on the year and 3-0 in the PSAC.
 
The Mountain Cats won nine of the 10 buts with bonus points, including five technical falls and three consecutive falls to end the match.
 
Vance, a two-time NCAA All-American and the third-ranked wrestler in the country at 285 lbs., put an exclamation point on the Mountain Cats' win by pinning Ritchie McCormack in just :46 to reach the milestone.
 
Pitt-Johnstown jumped out to an early lead with a 20-4 technical fall win at 6:23 from No. 1-ranked Trevon Gray at 125 lbs., and Brady Baker got a take down :32 into overtime to defeat Jacob Braun, 7-4, and put the Mountain Cats on top, 8-0.
 
The Mountain Cats continued to pour it on with Gideon Bracken's 24-4 tech fall at 3:34, before fourth-ranked Matt Sarbo used four second period back points to open up a lead on his way to a convincing, 13-2, major decision win over No. 19 Ty Linsenbigler in the bout at 149 lbs.
 
At 157 lbs., 20th-ranked Cooper Warshel picked-up a 20-4 technical fall at 6:38 over Luke Ananea to begin a streak of three consecutive tech fall victories.
 
Trent Hoover, ranked 13th at 165 lbs., won by technical fall 22-6 at 7:00 over Christian Hirak, and No. 7 Ty Morrison followed with a 18-0 technical fall at 5:54 at 174 lbs.
 
With a commanding lead and just three bouts remaining, the Mountain Cats got a falls from Jimmy Spindler at 3:55 at 184 lbs., and #11 Brad Morrison at 2:09 at 197 lbs., before Vance's pin completed the shutout.
 
Seton Hill fell to 5-2 overall and 1-2 in the PSAC.
 
Pitt-Johnstown continues a stretch of four straight matches in the Sports Center with PSAC matches against Millersville on Jan. 31 at noon and East Stroudsburg on Feb. 4 at 6 p.m.
