A total of 26 women's soccer student-athletes from 13 different institutions were named to the Daktronics Division II All-Region Team in the Atlantic Region.
Stoup, who led the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) in goals, points per game, goals per game, total points, and game-winning goals, also ranked second among all players on the All-Region team in total goals with 15 and led the region in game-winners with six. Nationally, Stoup is sixth in game-winning goals (6), 12th in goals per game (.882), 15th in points per game (1.88), 18th total goals (15) and, 29th total points (32).
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) champion Slippery Rock University led all schools with four selections to the All-Region team and was the only institution to place more than one player on the first team.
Gannon, Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College and California University (Pa.) all placed three players on the All-Region team.
The 2012 All-Region team features just six players that were previously named to a Daktronics All-Region team, including only one repeat first-team selection from last season in Slippery Rock defender Emer Flatley, and one three-time selection in West Chester University's midfielder Jen Hutchinson.
The team is headlined by freshman standout forward Mani Brueckner, who claims her second Athlete of the Year honor after also being named the PSAC Player of the Year last week. Brueckner finished her first year of collegiate competition with 10 goals, 13 assists and 33 points to lead Gannon in scoring.
