John Paul Kromka's 20 points and
Josh Wise's double-double of 13 points and 10 game-high rebounds helped Pitt-Johnstown turn a four-point halftime deficit into an 85-70 PSAC victory over Seton Hill, Saturday afternoon in the Sports Center. The Mountain Cats improved to 12-7 overall and 7-5 in the PSAC.
Wise's 3-pointer at the 12:36 mark of the first half gave Pitt-Johnstown an 18-11 advantage, but Seton Hill answered with a 12-2 run over the next four minutes to go in front 23-20 on Anthony Karabatsos' 3-pointer and a Trevor Blondin free-throw.
Back-to-back 3-pointers from
Jared Jakubick and
Romano Sebastiani gave the lead back to the Mountain Cats at 28-25, but Seton Hill regained the lead by three with 2:07 left, and Blondin's late layup gave the Griffins a 37-33 halftime advantage.

It remained closed until Pitt-Johnstown, who shot 61% from the field, took control seven minutes into the second half. The Mountain Cats used a 23-6 run over the next nine minutes to build a 16-point lead.
Fred Mulbah's free-throws put Pitt-Johnstown back on top, and two more from the line from Mulbah at 5:32 pushed the lead into double digits at 68-57. The Mountain Cats then extended it to 16 with 3:38 to play on a bucket by
Marcin Wiszomirski.
Seton Hill never got closer than 11 the rest of the way, and Pitt-Johnstown went on to hit eight free-throws down the stretch to balloon the lead to 20 before securing the 15-point victory.
Kromka's 20 points led four Mountain Cat double figure scorers. Wise had 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Sebastiani had 13 points and six assists, and Caiden scored 10 points. Pitt-Johnstown also got nine points and six assists from Mulbah, nine points from Jakubick, and seven points from Wiszomirski.
With his 13 points against the Griffins, Wise now has 973 career points, 27 shy of becoming Pitt-Johnstown's 30
th 1,000-point scorer.
The Mountain Cats shot an impressive 61.2% (30-49) from the field, 3-7 from 3-point range, and 22-32 from the charity stripe. Seton Hill was held to 42.9% (24-56) shooting from the floor, 7-21 from behind the 3-point line, and 15-21 from the free-throw line.
Nathan Davis' 20 points tied Kromka for game-high and Blondin chipped-in 19 points for the Griffins, who fell to 5-13 overall and 3-9 in the PSAC.
Pitt-Johnstown visits West Chester for a PSAC Crossover game on Wednesday, before returning home to host a PSAC Western Division doubleheader with the women's team against Gannon next Saturday in the Sports Center. The women's game against the Golden Knights will tip-off at 1 p.m. with the men's game scheduled for 3 p.m.
