Josh Wise,
Caiden Landis, and
Joe Batt all scored 13 points to help Pitt-Johnstown turn a 16-point deficit into a five-point game late in the second half, but West Chester was able to hold off the Mountain Cats for a 70-58 PSAC Crossover victory, Wednesday night in West Chester. Pitt-Johnstown slipped to 12-8 overall and 7-6 in the PSAC.
With his 13 points against the Golden Rams, Wise now has 986 career points, 14 shy of becoming Pitt-Johnstown's 30
th 1,000-point scorer.
West Chester hit six of its first eight shots, including baskets by Matt Penecale and Jackson Hyland, to open-up a 13-2 lead five minutes into the opening half.
Wise's jumper at 11:29 got the Mountain Cats back to within nine, but the Golden Rams got a 3-pointer from Evan-Eric Longino two minutes later to extend their lead to 24-11.

Pitt-Johnstown answered with a 9-2 spurt, capped by Wise's 3-pointer with 4:30 remaining in the half to cut it to six, before Tim Toro's put-back and free-throw helped West Chester rebuild the lead to 34-22 at the break.
The Golden Rams pushed its lead out to 16 on a Frank Rokins' basket at 14:35 of the second half, but the Mountain Cats got seven straight points from Batt to pull to within nine at 44-35 at the 11:34 mark.
A 10-3 run by West Chester rebuilt the lead to 16 with seven minutes to play. The Mountain Cats rebounded and got a basket from
Caiden Landis and a 3-pointer from Jakubick to pull to within seven at 62-55 at 3:33.
A jumper from Wise less than a minute later made it a five-point game, but West Chester was able to hold off the charging Mountain Cats and seal the 12-point win.

Wise finished with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Landis had 13 points and seven rebounds, and Batt tallied 13 points off the bench for the Mountain Cats. Pitt-Johnstown also got 10 points from Jakubick and six points from
Marcin Wiszomirski.
Both teams struggle to find the shooting touch. Pitt-Johnstown shot 36.8% (21-57) from the floor, 4-19 from 3-point range, and 12-20 from the free-throw line. West Chester was held to 37.3% (25-67) shooting, including 4-14 from behind the arc. The Golden Rams were also just 16-30 from the charity stripe.
Toro had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Rokins chipped-in 13 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Golden Rams. Hyland had 13 points for West Chester, which ran its win streak to 10 straight games and improved to 16-5 overall and 11-2 in the PSAC.
Pitt-Johnstown returns home to host a PSAC doubleheader with the women's team against Gannon, Saturday afternoon in the Sports Center. The women will tip-off against the Golden Knights at 1 p.m., with the men's game scheduled for 3 p.m.
