The Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's soccer teams will host a PSAC Western Division doubleheader against Slippery Rock, Wednesday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. Them men will kick off at 1 :30 p.m. with the women's match to follow at 4 p.m.
The Pitt-Johnstown men enter Wednesday's match at 1-1-7 overall and 0-4-0 in the PSAC West under
Coach Eric Kinsey. The Mountain Cats got 10 saves from
PJ Derksen,but suffered a narrow 1-0 loss at No 17 and PSAC West leading Gannon on Saturday.
Fourth-year
Coach Kevin Willhelm's Slippery Rock team has lost its last two matches and comes in at 4-4-2 overall and 1-1-0 in the PSAC West. The Rock loss 1-0 at No. 17 Gannon on Wednesday, before losing a non-conference match at Shippensburg, 2-1, on Saturday.
Pitt-Johnstown and Slippery split two games in 2019. On Oct. 16,
Evan Ulrich and
Chase Kuhn each scored goals to lead the Mountain Cats to a 2-1 win in Slippery Rock. The Rock answered with a 3-0 win in Johnstown on Nov. 6 behind goals from
Abdallah Bangura,
Brian McCarthy, and
Luke Picchi.
Pitt-Johnstown hosts a non-conference match against Roberts Wesleyan (NY) on Tuesday at 2 p.m. and a PSAC match against Mercyhurst on Oct. 23.

Coach Vito Addalli's Pitt-Johnstown women slipped to 3-8-0 overall and 2-7-0 in the PSAC West following Saturday's 2-1 loss at Gannon.
Meagan Aranha's goal in the 30
th minute tied it, but Gannon netted the eventual match winner with just under 25 minutes to play.
Seventh-year
Coach Jessica Giegucz's PSAC West-leading Slippery Rock team fell to 8-2-1 overall and 7-2-0 in the PSAC West after Saturday's 2-1 loss at Clarion.
Jordyn Minda scored the Rock's goal.
Pitt-Johnstown and Slippery Rock have met nine previous times, including a match-up in Slippery Rock on September 11.
Morgan Kost's goal gave the Mountain Cats an early 1-0 advantage, but the Rock answered with second half goals from
Kayla Swope and
Rachel Edge to secure a 2-1 victory.
The Mountain Cats will host a PSAC West match against Clarion on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before traveling to a conference match at Seton Hill next Wednesday.
