
Freshman Eli Ropietski and senior Mario Battaglia each finished 1-over par (217) to tie for second place at the two-day California (PA) Vulcan Invitational on Sunday and Monday.
Ropietski's 5-under, 67 in the final round is a new individual single round low for Pitt-Johnstown.
In addition, the Mountain Cats' ream low round of 286 (-2) and team 54 hole score of 880 are also program records.
As a team, Pitt-Johnstown also took home second place honors in a field of 16 teams after shooting a collective 880, just two strokes behind Gannon, which won the tournament with an 878.
Pitt-Johnstown's Mauricio Hernandez shot 8-over par (224) to tie three other players for 15th. Parker Hilchey fired a 10-over par 226 to finish in a tie for 23rd.
Ethan Webb tied for 32nd as an individual after shooting a 229 (+13). Playing as an individual, Tyler Mocello tied six others for 50th after finishing with a 232 (+16). Justin Scally finished tied for 63rd (235) and Sal Cerilli, playing as an individual, tied for 68th (236).
Gannon's Ryan Ferry took home individual first place honors after shooting 2-under par (214). Over three rounds, he shot a 71, 73 and 70.
The Mountain Cats will play at the Malone (OH) University Glenmoor Fall Classic at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio next Monday and Tuesday.
